There are thousands of nerve endings in the hands and feet. Reflexology encourages and stimulates efficient flow of nerve impulses i.e nerve energy. We have used the benefits of reflexology in our innovative treatment to maximize benefits to the patients.
Reflexology along with yoga, meditation and breathing exercise, enhance the effect of innovative procedures. Hence our clinic specializes in providing a package deal of the maximum beneficial management modalities to the patient. This is unique feature available at London polyclinic.
Reflexology is a holistic therapy which means it treats the individual as whole rather than treating a specific area in isolation. This is done through stimulating nerve endings, the energy channels and vascular flow to the various organs and structures of the body which are reflected in miniature on the feet and hands. We tend to use the feet as they are less exposed than the hands which can result in a more positive outcome. It is a non-invasive touch therapy. Gentle pressure is applied using a caterpillar walk to specific points on the feet, I use the Renee Tanner method which was developed in the 1960’s.
It is suggested that reflexology has similarities to acupuncture meridians, which are energy pathways that run throughout the body. Both therapies believe that when an energy channel is blocked due to day-to-day stresses, we all experience in our lives the body’s harmony becomes imbalanced. During a treatment I work on acupuncture and acupressure points. Reflexology opens these pathways and creates balance within the body.
Reflexology has myriad benefits, it can be effective in raising a client’s self-esteem and improve self-image, encouraging the client to take a closer look at their health and lifestyle. Reflexology helps to alleviate the effects of stress by inducing deep relaxation, allowing the nervous system to function to its optimum. Circulation and lymphatic drainage are also increased by reflexology.
Yoga, breathing and Meditation
Yoga combines with mediation, taking responsibly of our own health, protecting the body from the stress of everyday life. During the various poses (asana), we stretch muscle safely, especially the muscles and areas which was exposed to k-Laser therapy, open the muscle, and make space in the body and by working with minimal strength it creates new energy. This energy stimulates rejuvenation of blood vessels and enhances neo-vascularization.
Yoga Post Operation
You can start with beathing practices, relaxation, and gentle restorative asanas straight away. Even the simplest movements will improve blood flow and jump-start the healing process. By listening to your body and being mindful you gradually increase the level of activity as is tolerated. Working with meditation practices can boost recovery, speeding up the healing process.
